Atal Utkrisht GIC Quairala

The Mid-Day Meal Scheme (MDMS) was officially launched by the Government of India on 15th August 1995 as a centrally sponsored scheme. Its primary motto was: “No child shall be deprived of education because of hunger.”
At ATAL UTKRISHT G.I.C. Quairala, Salt, Almora, the Mid-Day Meal Scheme is effectively implemented to ensure that all students receive a nutritious and hygienic meal during school hours. This government-supported initiative plays a vital role in promoting regular school attendance, improving concentration and academic performance, and addressing issues of malnutrition among school-going children. Freshly cooked meals are prepared daily in the school’s designated kitchen area under strict hygienic conditions. The menu is nutritionally balanced, often including items like rice, dal, vegetables, chapati, and seasonal fruits or milk (as per government guidelines and availability). Special care is taken to maintain cleanliness, food safety, and quality control in the preparation and distribution process.
The Mid-Day Meal not only helps students stay energized and focused throughout the day but also fosters a sense of equality and community, as children from different backgrounds share meals together. Regular monitoring is done by the school administration and authorities to ensure the scheme runs efficiently and benefits every child.
